An OHIO engraving stylus, also called OHIO diamond stylus, is a precision tool used in the rotogravure printing process for the rotogravure industry. It is a very small, pointed tip made of diamond, which is renowned for its hardness and durability.
In rotogravure printing, the diamond stylus is used to engrave fine lines and details onto a cylinder or plate. The stylus is attached to a mechanical device that moves it along the surface of the cylinder or plate in a controlled manner. As the stylus moves, it removes a thin layer of material, creating the desired image or pattern.
The OHIO diamond stylus for the rotogravure industry is crucial for achieving high-quality prints with fine details, sharp edges, and accurate reproduction of images and text. The hardness and sharpness of the diamond allow it to create precise and consistent engraving, ensuring the reproduction of intricate designs and high-resolution images.
The use of OHIO diamond styli in the rotogravure industry helps achieve high print quality, efficiency, and productivity in applications such as packaging printing, labels, magazines, and commercial printing.
Diamond engraving tools are available in different shapes, sizes, and tip geometries to suit specific rotogravure applications and printing requirements.

Attentions:
When installing the electronic engraving stylus, don't touch the diamond cutting edge directly with your hands or other objects. If you need to wipe stylus, please use isopropyl alcohol or acetone& a lint free cloth or an elder pith. If you need more aggressive cleaning in order to remove a particular contaminant, please contact us.
Broken Engraving Stylus
The engraving stylus may break for various reasons.
1. The cutting diamond hits hard particles in the copper or the cylinder grinding residue (abrasive grit) or porous points (cavities) in the copper, such as coarse copper structure.
2. Attempts to clean the Engraving stylus with a brush or fingers. Diamonds are generally known for their hardness and strength, but even slight contact can result in damage and destruction and render the stylus unusable.
3. Attempts to clean with compressed air are just as dangerous for the stylus. If a particle of abrasive grit or dust strikes the cutting edge of the stylus at great speed, it will destroy the cutting edge. Furthermore, it is also possible that a blast of compressed air could blow copper burr into the bearings of the engraving system which would then have a detrimental effect on the stylus damping.
